Financial Impact and Cost/Benefit Considerations: The total cost of this program will not exceed $3.75M. This solution will allow PEC to concentrate its efforts on the spans of conductor with the most serious vegetation encroachment. This solution uses data collected along with our GIS information and Texas A&M’s Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Map to prioritize vegetation control efforts. Savings to the Cooperative will be seen in planning and executing vegetation management. It will also provide for a better understanding of risk involved in high fire danger areas.
Discussion
This software solution provides data and data processing to provide PEC with a dashboard featuring KPI’s to facilitate targeted vegetation management.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS that the Board approve the execution of a five-year agreement with The Weather Company | An IBM Business for the vegetation management software not to exceed $3,750,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, is hereby authorized take all such actions as needed to implement this resolution.
