Financial Impact and Cost/Benefit Considerations: As discussed in Executive Session
Discussion
Recommendation to purchase poles to upgrade the Burnet - Bertram - Andice transmission line to bundled 795 ACSR 138kV. The project will include the rebuild of 23.25 miles of wood pole 69-kV transmission line with galvanized steel transmission poles. Approximately 2 miles of the existing transmission line is located on double-circuit structures owned by LCRA Transmission Service Corporation (LCRATSC). This 2-mile section will be upgraded by LCRATSC with PEC owning the conductor and the optical ground wire for the PEC circuit from Burnet to Bertram. The transmission line upgrade improves the existing line by increasing the capacity, adding optical ground wire fiber to improve communications and reliability, and allowing an additional transmission line to be installed on the same structures.
