Discussion
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is installing a 345/138kV auto-transformer at the Bergheim Substation. The installation of the auto-transformer will increase the fault current at the Bergheim Substation in excess of the Bergheim T1’s circuit switcher rating. As a result, PEC will be required to change out the T1 circuit switcher.
LCRA’s original schedule was to complete the project in 2019 which required PEC to budget/construct the work in 2018-2019. LCRA has recently accelerated the project, which will cause PEC to start the circuit switcher upgrade project in 2017 and complete the work in 2018. As a result, $152,500 will need to be added to the 2017 budget and $467,500 to the 2018 budget.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COOPERATIVE, that the Bergheim T1 Circuit Switcher be upgraded; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2017 PEC Budget and the PEC RUS Work Plan are approved to include capital expenditures to upgrade the Bergheim T1 Circuit Switcher; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, is authorized to take all such actions as needed to implement this resolution.
