The Cooperative's membership in NRECA allows PEC to name 1 voting delegate and 1 alternate delegate for the regional meetings. The delegates are also allowed to vote during NRECA director elections for their respective state. Certifications for director elections may also be submitted at the election or prior to the submission deadline, September 1, 2017. Currently Emily Pataki serves as voting delegate and Cristi Clement as alternate voting delegate.
The NRECA National Resolutions Committee met on June 23, 2017 to kick off the yearly Resolutions Cycle. The 11-member National Committee is in the process of finalizing the Regional Meetings' general session programs that will address the issues raised in the proposed resolutions being considered by the Regional Committees. The National Committee is currently reviewing the proposed resolutions for discussion, and hope to have an approved resolutions agenda but the end of July, 2017. Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc. will continue to work NRECA and TEC to educate PEC voting delegates, directors, and co-op staff on issues presented in the resolutions.
The Board may also appoint and designate voting delegates to National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation. The CFC District Meeting will be held at the NRECA Regional Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, November 1-2, 2017.
NRECA's Annual Meeting will be held on February 22 - 28, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Cooperative also participates on voting matters at the statewide association's annual meeting, Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC). Delegates are also named for the TEC Annual Meeting, to be held, August 6 - 9, 2017, in Austin, Texas.
