Financial Impact and Cost/Benefit Considerations: This action is estimated to save the Cooperative approximately $1M annually on meter cost. Additional funds are not required. Approved 2021 budgeted meter dollars will cover meter exchange cost to be provided by Allegiant Utility Services, Inc. for up to 355,000 meters.
Discussion
Recommendation to approve a 2-year contract with Allegiant to provide meter exchange services to PEC that will allow for the replacement of existing electromechanical meters nearing end of life and existing solid state TWAC meters. Install up to 355,000 new licensed radio frequency (RF) AMI meters for the 2-year period. Allegiant was selected through RFP 2020-118.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COOPERATIVE that the Board approve the execution of a 2-year agreement with Allegiant Utility Services for AMI Meter Exchange; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, is authorized to take all such actions as needed to implement the resolution.
