Discussion

Under PEC’s 2017 - 2020 Strategic Plan, the concepts of community involvement, engagement, and corporate presence throughout the PEC service area are highlighted.  The Texas Hill Country is home to over 100,000 PEC members.

PEC continues to experience significant growth and demand for more energy.  PEC is serving several fast-growing areas in the U.S., adding over 12,000 members in 2016.  PEC’s construction and infrastructure support is significant.  PEC is heavily involved in many growth activities in the Texas Hill Country.  PEC is guided by the Cooperative Principle, “Concern for Community,” while protecting sustainable quality of life within our communities.

The Cooperative’s Community Support Policy allows for a special request for community support and in-kind support in the form of labor (Section 1. Purpose and Section 2. Scope, 2.1 and 2.2).  PEC’s Power Supply and Energy Services Division is currently sponsoring an exhibit table that features energy services programs which includes information on energy audits, solar interconnections, cooperative solar, and advanced rate options and how they are beneficial to the membership.

The 8th Annual Rainwater Revival + Hill Country Living Festival is focused on bringing together vendors, nonprofits, live music, interactive demonstrations, and informational presentations that cover all aspects of Hill Country living that protects the water, land, night sky, and communities that define the character of this region. This year marks an expansion of the event’s focus and carries a general theme of living lightly and growing responsibly in the Texas Hill Country.

The Hill Country Alliance (HCA) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to bring together an ever-expanding alliance of groups, individuals, and organizations throughout a multi-county region of Central Texas with the long-term objective of preserving open spaces, water supply, water quality and the unique character of the Texas Hill Country. HCA is the host of the Rainwater Revival + Hill Country Living Festival.

The Cooperative may consider a sponsorship to the Rainwater Revival + Hill Country Living Festival to be held in November 2017.  Consideration of the “Cats and Dogs” level sponsorship is $2,500.
