The Cooperative's membership in NRECA allows PEC to name 1 voting delegate and 1 alternate delegate for the regional and national meetings. The delegates are also allowed to vote during NRECA director elections for their respective state. Certifications for director elections may also be submitted at the election or prior to the submission deadline, September 1, 2017. In 2016, Emily Pataki served as voting delegate and Cristi Clement as alternate voting delegate.
The NRECA National Resolutions Committee met on June 23, 2017 to kick off the yearly Resolutions Cycle. The 11-member National Committee voted to forward three new resolutions, amendments to four existing resolutions, a revised preamble statement for the member resolutions booklet, and a recommendation against the adoption of two existing resolutions for consideration at the 2017 Regional Meetings. The National Resolutions Committee Report and 2017 Compendium of Proposed Resolutions is attached. Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc. will continue to work with NRECA to update PEC voting delegates, directors, and co-op staff on issues presented in the resolutions.
The Board may now consider PEC positions and directives for voting delegates on the matters presented.
NRECA Regional Meetings take place in September and October of 2017, with Regions 8 & 10 meeting being held last October 31-November 2 at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess, in Scottsdale, AZ. The NRECA Annual Meeting will be held on February 22 - 28, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee.

RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COOPERATIVE, that PEC's voting delegate and alternate voting delegate follow the Board’s directive regarding the proposed NRECA resolutions as discussed by the Board this day.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer or his designee is authorized to take such actions necessary to implement this resolution.
